The Omni is where I would suggest you start.

Possibly - although I don't know why. That place is not one of the nicer hotels in town.

With enough notice, you can actually get a room at most hotels Uptown within the $100-$130/night price range. I just did two searches on hotels.com for a couple of weeks out, and the Hyatt House (right beside the arena), Aloft at EpiCentre, the Doubletree near Johnson and Wales University (a couple of blocks removed from the center of action in Uptown though), the Holiday Inn on College Street, Hampton Inn, Marriott Courtyard, Residence Inn (by BOA Stadium), the Omni, and Marriott City Center all had rooms within that range.

Aloft at the EpiCentre is where I always stay, location can't be beat. The only other hotel I've stayed at was the Omni and wasn't that bad. " I'd put Aloft way ahead of it, in every category though" Like stated you can get really decent prices on Hotels, I've never paid more than $125 a night.

Aloft is alright if you don't mind late-night noise. But I would look elsewhere if you want something a little quieter.
