The Harris Teeter stores are nice, but the prices are much higher than what we were accustomed to in Florida. It appears that they have a near monoply in the South Charlotte area giving them pricing power. What are the alternatives?

Try Lowe's supermarkets...there's one on Providence (in the same shopping center as On the Border) as well as one on 521 near Bridgehampton.
But HT's sales drop the prices down to about what you would pay somewhere else. I have seen them jack up their prices before they do buy one get one free sales too.
Super Wal Mart or Super Target have the best grocery prices around!
Ditto on that!
You'll find that in order to get the best pricing, you need to go to several different stores. I shop Walmart SuperCenter for boxed goods, frozen items and paper products. EarthFare for fruits and veggies and Harris Teeter for meats. Trader Joe's for milk and two buck chuck!
Sign up for E-vic - and Harris Teeter will email you the weekly specials. But I agree with the other posters, best to shop at a couple of places to get good deals on groceries. and coupons always help!
