Has anyone bought from the guys by the road selling shrimp and crab? I'm leery of buying anything on the road, but willing to try if someone had a good experience with them.

The Shrimp Pimp Seafood Co has been bringing Fresh Local Carolina Seafood from the Coast since 2002, prices are great, quality is excellent, if your looking for high end FRESH FROZEN Asian Farm Raised, Chilean this or Equadorian that we can't and don't want to help you out.
,
The comment about refrigeration really makes us laugh, you buy products from South America, and
Asia. Pretty Seafood Counter does not mean Fresh Seafood. A TIP: for you
Fresh White Shrimp are translucent almost blue, their tales are neon green, yellow, with red. If you
can smell the shrimp they are not fresh Brown shrimp about the same except brown in color tail red and kind a purple.

Sorry I sound bitter. www.shrimpimpseafoodcompany.com put it in the address bar. or e-mail
shrimppimpseafoodco@gmail.com or call us 704-831-1711

Well, I do worry about how seafood has been handled. I do not buy seafood from Asia. Nope. If I can't see country of origin, then I assume it is imported and I don't want it. Threw out frozen talapia I got from China (read the package after getting it home).

I personally have nothing against flash frozen seafood, as I would rather get something I know was frozen quickly after being caught than take a chance on fresh seafood that may not have been kept at safe temps during transport. So that is why I asked about refrigerated trucks.

I don't buy seafood at the seafood counters of ANY of the grocery stores here. My son used to work at the meat counter in a grocery store and what they labeled as "fresh" was almost always frozen. Who knows how many times it was unthawed and refrozen.

I would be glad to support a fresh seafood market here in Charlotte, but since we are not on the coast, I am naturally gonna be dubious about transport.

I actually went to a seafood market on South Boulevard early in the morning and saw the employee rinsing the frozen shrimp and selling it as fresh. I was terribly upset at this.

I saw a fresh seafood truck parked in a parking lot in Mooresville selling the fish right out of the truck.. I forget their name sorry, but they brought fish in fresh from the NC Coast and are looking for a permanent store spot somewhere in Mooresville.. I know that probably doesn't help, but maybe someone else can help w/ the name??
