Which in our mind, the FBI set him up. Of course, now that I know the real story, is till wouldn't agree with 5 years. 3-4 years is good.
Of course they set him up, it's called a sting operation. All he had to do was be the upstanding guy he tried to portray and say thanks, but no thanks. It's amazing how when you make the right decisions in life you don't get sentenced to prison. Personal responsibility, it's a novel idea that is lost on certain members of this society.

Absolutely.

Not to mention the reason they set him up was because they had already been tipped off that he was accepting bribes.

Have you seen the numbers of innocent people sentenced to prison and even death?

Patrick Cannon wasn't innocent. He admitted to it and was caught red handed. It was well known that he was dirty for years in Charlotte.

It is sad that some people get innocently charged, but Patrick Cannon was FAR from innocent. Did you not vote because you are a felon?

Do you have first hand experience with the justice system?

No, I'm saying the Judge isn't always right when it comes to criminals.

Then what mistake do you think the judge made? Cannon pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges, in return for a 3-4 year jail sentence. Judge gave him 44 months. Where was the judge wrong?
