Property with big blue victorian house on Statesville Road (Huntersville: for sale, neighborhood) - Charlotte - North Carolina (NC) - City-Data Forum

Hello everyone!

My husband and I are thinking of moving to Monteith Park and noticed that there is a big parcel of land on Statesville Road that has a huge victorian house situated in the middle. Does anyone know what will be done with that property? I looked it up and it appears to be about 15-18 acres. Do you think it would be likely that the property could be zoned commercial?

Well its right in the middle of commercial property that's for sure. I think at one point the land across the street from Park Chevy was up for sale. 18 acres in that area would be prime.

That's a hard call.

Is Park Chevy in a location that is close to the entrance of Monteith Park? My fear is that the property is zoned commercial, and my husband and I are living in a house that backs to the shopping center/car lot, etc. Would the town of Huntersville approve a zoning application allowing for a commercial lot to back to a new residential neighborhood? My fear is yes....but do you know of anything that prevents it?

There is no way to tell what might get zoned what. You could check the Huntersville planning board to see what migt be in the plans.

I can only think is to attend zoning meetings if their is a yellow zoing sign see if it has what type of zoning and attend the meeting.
I now know which house you are talking about they put out this huge jack 0 latern out every October. (I would love to own that house)

We have new local leaders on the city board and hopefully they will adhere to guidelines set by the former.
Parks Cheverolet was given very strict guidlines in the design and use of the property that it now sits on.

That is a major feeder road between the two Huntersville exits so the residents of that area really need to let their voices heard to point writing letters to each leader.

I drove by their about an hour ago and saw the signs.
2 of the for sale properties are done by the same agent and there was no rezoning signs. I would call that realtor (ask me in dm the name) and ask how that land for sale is zoned. Whoever purchases the land can always to a rezoning request.

I drove further down Statesville Road in Cornelius and did see rezoning signs across the street from 131 Main restaurant. I guess it time for that farm to go by by and the caution tractor sign.
