I won a dinner at Monticello from a silent auction or something and it was great. They have early bird dinner specials as well.

If looking for something more casual, Tavern on the Tracks has opened at 6pm in the past; don't know if they still do.

I just received an email from Beantown Tavern. They are offering a Christmas Day Buffet from 11:00 - 4:00, with over 60 items. It says to call 704-849-2023 for more details.

Default Best Bet

We moved from NY to Charlotte about 3 years ago. We live in the Ballantyne Area (pretty close to Matthews). Your best bet is the Ballantyne Resort. They have a great Christmas Bruch Buffet and Dinner. It is a rather upscale hotel and the food is excellent. Go to the website (www.ballantyneresort.com) and take a look at the menu. It can get pricy, though. We will be there this Christmas.

There are serveral Chinese restaurants (i.e. Wan Fu) open for dinner in Charlotte on Christmas as is Ember Grille in the Westin (S College St). Izzy's Cafe & Catering (Providence Sq Shopping Center) is open Christmas day for a breakfast buffet. Not sure what else is available restaurant wise. Welcome to Charlotte.

Hmmm it wasn't cheap but not too expensive, average plate ~$15 I'd say. I got a spicy cod soup, my wife got some steak lettuce wrap thing, didn't really study the menu. They brought out 9 seperate small side dishes before our main dish, most I've never even seen before but all where delicious.

They asked if we wanted dinner or the BBQ, not sure if the BBQ was like a buffet-style. We saw a lot of people getting seconds like a buffet but we didn't see it. I should have asked though.

It was packed & I'd say at least 3 out of 4 people dining in were Korean...nice place, check it out!
