A lot of Wachovia top execs live in Eastover.

This is true...my daughter who's 13 attended 2 bat mitzvahs there!

I live in a place where there's only a few jewish families so this is a relief. We came from West Bloomfield, MI where it was 50% jewish so it's great that it's similar in charlotte.

Not exactly similar percentage-wise, look below. I've know a few people (I've only been here 10 mos) who have mentioned the JCC and they don't seem to not feel "out of place" here.

I don't live in an area with alot of jewish people either but my daughter goes to the Charlotte jewish day school and yes MOST of the families live right near the JCC.. however we live in Union County and the Jewish population is certainly growing, however my son doesn't have any jewish friends and its no big deal for us..if your dad working uptown at wachovia then the commute is minimal...my son is 13 as well...

We are Jewish as well. I have a 13 year old son -- we live in Union County which is further out from the JCC than where your family is looking. I think you are looking in the right areas for what you want. Definitely check out the JCC when you come into town, it is great

Is union county in South Carolina? It was mentioned a couple times but it was ruled out in light of the commute.

NO, it's still NC. SC has York, Lancaster counties and towns of Ft. Mill, Clover, and Rock Hill.

That's why it was ruled out. My dad wanted a 20 minute or less commute.
