I have learned a new term this last weekend.

Lawnmower beer, defined as cheap beer that serves the purpose of quinching one's thirst while doing yard work.

Now, when we were in the midwest, we bought Schafer beer, (Pronounced, jokingly, as Shaff -e-a, to sound french)

And my DH, being the consummate Yankee, has to down his beers while mowing or doing other hot outdoors yard work. The Southern tradition is to never let anyone know you drink beer b/c your more conservative neighbors (often Baptists) would not approve. I think all that has changed, but since I never encountered this phenomena of drinking beer while doing lawn work, I attribute it to being a Yankee, since my DH was raised in St. Louis where they make beer and everyone drinks it in public or in their front yards, for that matter, Hee Hee. In other words, I was raised to be hypocritical about such things as consuming beer while doing lawn work!!!!! (See why I like the New South????)

So what is the cheapest Lawnmower beer I can purchase for DH while he is doing his outdoor thing? It is summer . . . we need to stock up.

Tell me the brand names and where I can find the CHEAP beer!!!!

Corona used to be cheap. I'm tired. I've been hauling hot mulch all day.

Sounds like you have qualified for some Lawnmower Beer yourself. Corona - nice when icy cold w/ a lime slice.

I need to find out where you got the mulch. Did you have someone come dump a load out for you?

I have to trump the Corona thing.....

And go with either Landshark w/ a lime or Dos Equis Lager w/ a lime.

Coming from Florida to CTL in a couple of weeks I hope that I can find them both!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely wonderful beers!

Oh yes, Dos Equis . . . in a bucket w/ ice . . . on a beach in Cozumel.

But we are talking CHEAP here. You gotta thing CHEAP guys. Not the good stuff to savor. The cheap stuff you pop and drink down in gulps to cool off.

I stopped drinking cheap beer in college, I have a job now and prefer to taste my beer. Its Spaten, Stella or if I'm feeling Italian its Peroni. For light beer its Corona, Michelob or Amstel. I also still enjoy a Budweiser, The Great American Pilsner

Some of the cheap stuff we used to drink always went back and forth between Busch and Old Milwacky (Milwaukee). Sometimes we would by Piels or the ultimate tap clogger, Stegmaier (local PA beer). For a guaranteed headache in the morning Black Label (not Johnny Walker).

Is Landshark not known in CTL???? Please say this isn't true because this will cause me to get a bigger U-haul! But we will all throw one great BBQ so I can introduce you to this drink of drinks! Light, refreshing smooth taste! Hell...I gotta hit the fridge!
