Glad to see our Chief is addressing the North areas. He seems to be on top of things. I am impressed.

Might be some heavier presence around WT Harris...

Man could be 2nd dead robber in a week - CharlotteObserver.com (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/244/story/913596.html?storylink=omni_popular - broken link)

...to protect the criminals from getting themselves killed by thinking law abiding ppl are just victims waiting to be robbed.

Quick Summary:
Quote:
...court records show that Norman had been arrested 14 times in the last three years, most recently on July 24 for traffic-related charges.

The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. in an apartment complex parking lot behind Lancecrest Drive near Milton Road and W.T. Harris Boulevard, according to police.

Police say Norman and two partners confronted two other men, apparently planning to rob the two. During the confrontation, shots were fired. Police found Norman dead at the scene and two others injured.
*I'm not sure what the drug related comment in the article means, if it's just the would be robber was looking for drug money or if involved the ppl getting robbed, which would obviously remove the 'law abiding' part above.

Suspect on run after cutting off monitor - CharlotteObserver.com (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/breaking/story/913650.html - broken link)

See this guy?? Call 911.

He is a former resident of Faires Farms; a thug that I have had personal dealings with.

yeah, don't know that he was a part of that group, but, would not have surprised me if he were.

this really is a sad story, the kid's mother was a piece of work, operating an illegal daycare and threatening people in the HOA when they tried to put an end to it. Early on, Mike, (I am talking 10 years old) was already stealing bicycles and doing petty theft. He lived just down the street from me and one of his brothers (later on) was the ring leader of a huge crime wave in Charlotte a couple of years ago. He fathered a child with another young woman who has a rap sheet a mile long and is currently in prison for a number of felonies. This guy, though, really did not have a chance from the beginning. And, that is what I say is sad.

I talked to him numerous times, he broke my picket fence just days after I had it installed by trying to jump over the gate (instead of walking through it) after getting caught stealing a bike from the neighbours to the rear of me. He tried his attitude stuff with me, I out-attituded him , but, my son was really concerned because he was so volatile. My son was afraid that he would shoot me.

Sadly, if he were to be shot or otherwise die, it almost would be merciful. He truly does not know the difference between right & wrong. All he has ever known is wrong...and, that is what is sad.

You are right. That article is unclear as to how the drugs came into play. Was this a drug transaction of some sort? Or were the perps looking for drug money? The article leaves us hanging on that one.

Well, I looked at the photo so I would recognize him if I ever saw him. But I bet he is nowhere around Charlotte by now.

You are right - it is sad - but it is also outrageous that people have kids who are destined to become sociopaths. This kid is the poster child for "at risk children." All the programs we have in this city for at risk children - I wonder if any of that can do a thing when a kid is immersed in a homelife that includes no accountability. You can't get through to a child who has no conscience and doesn't care about consequences.
