Thats great! My husband and I moved on a whim 7 years ago but have never regretted it! Charlotte is such a great location too! 2 hours to the mountains and 3 hours to the beach! You can't find that in Illinois!! There is always something to do, so many opportunities, and of course... the weather. Your first winter here will pleasantly surprise you!

So is 50 degrees cold enough to lite the logs? It seemed like a few fireplaces were going last night in Highland Creek, it smelled great! I have a wood burning, but my chimney sweep suggested using Java Logs until we really get into winter. Any feedback from someone who has used these?

I'm thinking the 40's. That's when we'll fire up our fireplace. I wish we had the wood burning one but we don't. I'm going to get one for outside though!

I love winters here! A light sweater and on a few days only a heavy sweater will do! I love it!

It's an outdoor fireplace. Usually made of terra cotta
