My husband loves this style of dining & so for his birthday we must go. I haven't been to any in Charlotte. I've heard of Brazas & the new one Chima, neither of which have good reviews. Is one possibly better than the other? Are there any others I don't know about?? We are in SE Charlotte & will travel about 30 minutes. Thank you!
We have been to Brazas several times now.. Have never had a bad experience yet, the meats are excellent. you can't beat the price.. their buffet/salad bar is not even close to being as extensive as Chimas however that is not the reason we go so we gladly pay half price. at Brazas you are also able to sample the indian buffet they have..
Have not been to Chimas yet so I cannot say anything about them..
Sunny, both Brazas and Chimas are Churascarias, It's basically Brazilian BBQ/rotisserie.
You pay one price and the servers will come to the table all night long if you want with different kinds of meats; beef, lamb, chicken, pork, fish and at Brazas they will have a special , e.g. Gator, ostrich, rabbit..etc. There is also a buffet for salad and side items..
Braza and Chima are like night and day. Consider Braza a "blue collar" version of Chima. Braza costs like $30.00 a person, while Chima is more like $50.00 a person. I've been to Braza, it was pretty good. Some of the meats where much better than others. Braza's location (East Charlotte) and interior are nothing to write home about, so don't expect much flash. Chima on the other hand is very nice, and in Uptown. I've only been to the bar at Chima for drinks, but that place is worlds apart from Braza. Chima even has the little Goucho guys dressed up in those little funny outfits; its much more upscale.
I went to Chimas last night. VERY NICE!!! The restaurant is gorgeous and very well decorated. The service was extremely attentive, we had a group of 20 and they didn't miss a beat. The food was outstanding...the "salad bar" had more things on it than most Fogo De Chao's and the meat selection was extremely varied and I didn't have something that wasn't good.
I just took a shot of Pepto Bismol so hopefully I can make it through work today!! I ate way too much!
I have been to Brazas once before a few years ago, if it hasn't changed the "Blue Collar / White Collar" comparison someone mentioned before is spot on.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
