I'm curious - given current economic conditions and places closing, what would you do if you were looking to invest in a franchise (I guess it doesn't HAVE to be a franchise) and own your own business, what would you do? What if money wasn't an issue, you had plenty to start the business you want? And to fend off the "I'd sit on the sidelines, hold on to my money and do nothing" answers I know some of you are thinking, what if you HAD to start a business?

In particular, I'm thinking of far south Charlotte and Union County - Blakeney, Stonecrest, McKee Farms, etc - what would you open that you think would be successful?

This is more because I hate having to only be able to mail order the stuff, but there is a bath products company called Lush - the nearest store is in Atlanta. Stuff ships from Vancouver, WA and I can't order some of the stuff during the summer because it'll melt during shipping. And I would LOVE to have my own store like that!! Plus, the stuff works great and is mostly natural ingredients.

A nice little flower shop - that end of town is in short supply of florists for sure! I get tired of having to get flowers from Harris Teeter when I need them. And all thru my sons high school years there was no place for him to buy corsages for his dates other than Harris Teeter

Dunkin Donuts. So many people from northern states have moved down here in recent years. Another idea, for those from NY/NJ would be WaWa.

Toy store. Only 2 TRS in whole of Charlotte and no KB Toys in south Charlotte (or whole Charlotte).
