I don't like the feeling of being numb and I have had lots of dental work done...crowns, inlays, etc almost on every tooth! I just meditate! I also don't get anything when I get medical tests done like endoscopy's too. I just feel more in control I guess..crazy I know!

I do have a good rec though. My dentist uses sedation if you want it. They are Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney and Matthews. I see Dr. Phelps but they are all good.

Wow, I'm amazed tough cookie that doesn't need Novocaine! I do understand about the control thing. I never used any type of pain meds when my children were born. Epidurals weren't available for my older 3 and the med options they did have were ones that made you feel very drugged and out of control so I just chose to use none. Sorry to say, this doesn't transfer over to the dentist for me lol. I have had a couple of small cavities that they were able to fill with some type of "sand blast" technique?? But once, it hurt bad enough we had to go back to the Novocaine.... I had gotten pretty comfortable with dentist in Arkansas but since we've moved here, I'm back to square one. Sedation dentistry sounded like a good option but I needed to know more.

That is funny I woudl think this woudl be a breeze after having kids naturally!

I would recommend Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney or the one the previous poster mentioned Advanced Dentistry of Ballantyne. Both great places! I just preferred Dr. Phelps more so went with him at Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney. Their offices are awesome!

Here is their site for sedation:

I know, I know! lol I think the big difference is the incentive of the incredible prize you get after childbirth... Now, if I would get diamonds every time I go to the dentist without Novocaine... I might be able to do it! Somehow, I don't see that happening though so I need to have a Plan B lol

I know this an an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone has been to this dentist or had sedation dentistry done since this. I have to have two root canals, two fillings and crowns. I can't do any of it if I am awake. I am terrified of dentists. I am claustrophobic and can't breath. I had to have something just to get xrays and have my teeth cleaned. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Are you looking for a sedation dentist in Monroe?

If so, I know that Dr. Sassano at Sassano Family Dental Care does sedation. Very nice folks.

His office is 704 S. Sutherland Ave., Monroe NC 28112. His number is (704) 289-9519.
