Hello Everyone. I am kind of a lurker on this thread but have come across a issue that I believe most of you can help me with.

I am a second year marketing student at Johnson and Wales and recently started working at Express at Southpark. The problem that I am now facing however, is what would be a 15 minute drive from uptown to the mall, turns into a 30-40 minute stop and go down 3rdSt/Providence Rd during the rush hour times.

I have tried Google Maps and have had little success in trying to find an alternative route. If anyone out there knows a way around this, I will GREATLY appreciate it.

Native Son I believe both of those options will work wonderful! Thank you so much for your assistance.

I was reading an article about the possibility of Charlottes traffic to become as bad as LA, and I believe its possible!

LA freeways would eat the 485 up and spit it out laughing. Yes, we do have traffic but it actually clears up.

I would at least try taking I-277 to Kennelworth and following Park Rd out that way. Optionally take one of the branch roads over to Queens Rd., cut over to Sharon Ln, and follow that over to SP.

I did this commute for two years. Morehead gets too jammed with traffic. You must take side roads.

Something like:

-Trade St. to McDowell St. (south)
-veer onto Dilworth Rd. (dont take Morehead)
-Left onto East Blvd
-Right onto Queens Rd
- Right onto Selwyn Ave
-Left onto Runnymede Ln.
-Righto onto Barclay Downs
-Left onto Morrison

The nice thing about Southpark is that there are 50 different roads and side streets you can take to get from uptown to Southpark. Just learn your way around and take an alternate route if one is backed up.

I vote for this route, as long as you aren't afraid of getting lost in the Queens at Queens loop...LOL! With the canopy of water oak trees, it can be daunting to find you way out! I remember the first time I made it out the other side, I felt like I had really mastered something!
