My son and his wife are moving to the Charlotte, NC, area. He will be working in Charlotte. They are looking for an area close by where they can have horses on their property, but isn't very expensive. Any ideas?
There are several counties that would accommodate horses...
Gaston, York (SC), Cabarrus, Lincoln ....
they would just need to do the research to see if they would be
happy there and would suit them. As far as expense, that I couldn't
answer for you. Good luck to them !

Depending on where your son would be working in Charlotte, they could look at western Gaston County or eastern Cleveland County near Rt 74 &/or I 85. Also, Lincoln County near Rt 321.
Not that I have any clue as to what the cost of the property is, but there is a horse farm for sale near the corner of Marvin rd and Johnston rd in south charlotte, I drive by it every day and I absolutely love the house, wrap around front porch, on a little hill. It is technically on Marvin rd...just thought I would pass it on. Good Luck!!

I know exactly which one you're talking about. It's been for sale for ever and last time I looked it up it was in the million $ range.
Blackhorse Run on hwy 521 just over the SC line is a totally horse oriented neighborhood with most houses keeping horses. Tons of trails and very good prices. I know there has been homes under 300 in there recently.
i guess that isn'e exactly cheap It just looks so pretty...
This kind of looks like the house we were thinking of? It has the wrap around porches but I don't see the fountain out front and I could have sworn the inside looked more historical.
