My best friend's daughter is going to be in Charlotte tonight (Monday) throught Wed afternoon. All day tomorrow she will be in a meeting and we are going to try to get together for dinner. I work at 485 and S. tryon, she will be staying at the Courtyard near the airport. Any convenient suggestions?!?!?!
Preferably some place 2 single girls can be comfortable and talk....

Cracker Barrel is about your best bet - not much out by the airport I'm afraid. LOVE the chicken fried steak there

How about the Ayrsley area? You have Salsa's, Red Lion, Wild Wing, Portofino's, and a few others right in that general area. Its 15 minutes from the airport area.
There's a development at the corner of Yorkmont and Tyvola - according to Google maps, there is a Salsarita's, a Jersey Mike's subs and YuYu's Chinese Grill there. I drive past it about once a week, but I've never driven around inside to verify that these are actually here. But with the businesses in the area and the airport and hotels, I'd think they would still be there.

I've eaten at that Salsarita's. Farther up the road is Yorkmont Cafe a yummy mom and pop, casual place. As already mentioned other than Cracker Barrel and fast food places, there really isn't much that close to the airport. As you know there are lots of options near your work in Steele Creek.
I would try the Open Kitchen, if you head down Wilkinson Blvd toward uptown, it's probably only about 5 or 6 miles - A Charlotte Institution ( Italian American food) and I think it beats Cracker Barrel hands down.
