As a kid in Michigan, I grew up hearing & using old sayings. Some are specific to a region, but others are not. Ani tosses one out occasionally on this board.
If you are a native of the Charlotte region, what are the old sayings that you use or remember? If you are not originally from this area & one that is posted is similar to one that you use, post your version. Some old saying are self-explanatory, but if yours isn't, please post the meaning.
Not really a saying but, "It comin' up a cloud". (Note: I didn't misspell "It's". I actually knew someone who said "It comin' up a cloud" before a storm). I have also heard (this is all local Charlotte stuff) a tall person referred to as a sassafras! Love that. Then "lay across the bed" for taking a nap. That's a good one.

A sure thing:

I know I've heard very similar versions, but I'm drawing a blank right now. . .
