There are some to the north and some to the south in SC, but there isn't any in or near uptown (possibly due to the lack of avialability of buildings and higher lease prices). But I think anywwhere in the north by UNCC or in the south along South Blvd may be good. South Blvd has a good amount of Hispanic population, but it is predominantly
Mexican and also some Guatemelans and people from El Salvador.

I hope you are a good cook. You have to make the real thing. Arroz con Pollo, Ropa Vieja, Picadillo, pastelitos, croquettes, etc. Don't try to dress up the real Cuban seasoning. That's where I think restaurants mess up. The Cubans in Charlotte (and surrounding areas) will KNOW good from bad and, if there is such a need for a GOOD Cuban restaurant....... I hope you deliver!
I don't live there. I'm in Miami, but I've seen a lot of the threads here because maybe someday I'll be at least, visiting. I've read that the Cuban transplants there really miss the food they left behind.

And I've heard that they are not that good so if you search through some of the other threads/posts here relating to Cuban food, you'll see what people dislike about the ones that are there now. You have to rise above that and become another Sergio's, or La Carreta (not Versailles... pleeeezzzzeeeee).
