Currently Charlotte is no longer that cheap...the only cheap housing is a pretty long commute from the city...

So just to clarify what year do you expect that?

Don't underestimate the robots, that's what they want you to do! Their capabilities increase exponentially.

I came here in December of 2005 to scoop the area. I found housing to be quite affordable in comparison to many many places, Traffic did not seem too bad at that time. I ventured into Union county because that was all the talk at the time, and I found myself quite remove and somewhat too rural. I kept asking about "Is Providence road the main road into Charlotte?" The answer was they will start to widen the road in 2007. FAST FORWARD TO 2007........... I did not move then, but I am not in a short term rental in the Ballantyne area. Prices have gone up, Traffic is much worse (in a 1.5 years WOW!) , Providence Rd is still looks the same but no way out and no way in during peak times. I am now looking at houses inside of the loop because I DO BELIEVE traffic is going to get much much worse in the years to come (short years). Property values will become more expensive too inside the loop as people will not want to commute. I am willing to buy a little less house or a little older home.

The future is gridlock with alot of steamy heat.

Just kidding. I know with Kannapolis getting a univeristy research something things are going to grow and grow. THe biggest thing is we need more schools all over the state, not just in CHarlotte.
