Floosmoor's weather huh??? Well, its not much different than Chicago's only is only it is further south so you won't get anywhere near as much snow as the northern burbs do in the winter. Typically when news reports are forecasting snow the weather men will say 3-6 inches lets just say, so in that case you can expect 3 inches down in Floosmoor, and up north in lets say Schaumburg or Fox Lake they will be the ones getting hammered with the 6 inches. Springs are cool to cold due to the closer proximity to the icy lake waters and constant grey skies, but there will be some nice days mixed in with it all and more will come as May approaches. Summers are typically hot, humid, and offer the most sun. Southern burbs will experience much more hot and humid weather than areas to the north as well as right next to the lake such as Evanston or the Loop. Often times severe storms will break out in the afternoon due to the hot and humid conditions ripening the atmosphere for severe weather, but the area hasn't seen any tornados in years however there have been many close calls such as on Aug 23rd (This was the Aug 23rd storm
YouTube - Storm Of The Century Hits Illinois Here is another and listen to the sirens going off
YouTube - Chicago Storm). Falls in my opinion are the nicest esp with all the trees Floosmoor and Homewood both have to offer. Falls come knocking on the door about Sept 20th and will switch to a more wintery regime about Nov 1 just as this year did where temps will drop from the mid to upper 60's down to the upper 40's more often then eventually the upper 30's by Thanksgiving. Leaves typically will stay on the trees through Halloween, but this year was a bit of a fluke as we still had leaves on the south side until about a week ago.
The people? Floosmoor is kind of a mixed bag of races and income levels really. Over the past 10 years the area has become more integrated with African Americans, Chinese, Arabians, as well as the long time Caucasians that have been there for many years now. People are very friendly overall and the town really has a small town feel to it to be quite honest as does Homewood.
Jobs are plentiful and if you can't find one in the Floosmoor area there is always the train that you can jump on that will shoot you downtown (Chicago) in just under an hour where if you can't find a job there, then just hang it up.
Traffic is surprisingly not bad in Floosmoor like you would expect as much of the shopping (Mall) traffic ends up over in Orland Park as well as the hungry eatters looking for a night out stuffing their faces.
Natural Beauty... Well here is where this gets very tricky. Illinois in general is not known for great beauty due to it's flat terrain and well thats about it. We do have TONS of trees in the area, so if you find tree lined streets pretty then you are in luck!

If you have bad allergies though, then you may want to either find a good allergist or rethink the burbs and maybe look into the "concrete jungle" downtown in the Loop because our trees here do flower in the spring and create an unbelievable amount of pollen.

Believe me I know, I have severe allergies to pollen and have horrible hayfever in the spring. Just invest in some Claritin or Mucinex if thats the case.
