Hey there. I have a child with a LD, rising 6th. We are looking at Indian Prairie (Naperville) 204 and Naperville 203 for schools. A friend is encouraging us to also check out 200 in Warrenville/Wheaton. Any insights from anyone out there? I know there are right next to each other. This friend felt 204 especially could be stretched for services because so many families moved there if they had a special needs child. I actually see this as a positive (having lots of SN families in the district) but I can understand her concerns. She also said she was worried about the "snob factor" of Naperville. Just looking to see if anyone has any thoughts they are willing to share. Of course, I am doing my own research, just thought I would check here as well. Thank you.

200 is verygood for services. Naperville is so big, that only some parts are snobby. Typically, 204 is less snobby than 203, but the southern part is snobby. If you want to try to look for a less snobby place, try to look for more diverse schools. Also, 204 is generally more diverse than 200.

Thank you. That snob factor is something we want to avoid. We moved from a high profile, less diverse and supposedly "the best" elementary school to one that is much more diverse and we are so much happier. The kids and families are so welcoming and nice. It can really make a difference! I also wonder if 204 being so huge would cause issues with services. I guess you can look at that either way. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

We live in D204. The services are outstanding. We've used them plenty and have a lot of first-hand experience.

If you want to avoid the snob factor and be in 204, stick with Waubonsie or Metea and avoid Neuqua.

Agreed. Earlier in my high school search fir my daughter, Waubonsie was one of our top choices and we avoided Neuqua because of lack of diversity, and it's so big. We didn't move to Naperville because my job was more up north.
