Update! We really like the area around Meadow Glens and the Meadow Glens School. It's an older area with some streets that have single family ranch homes. We're looking at homes similar to this one:

https://www.redfin.com/IL/Naperville.../home/18035654

This gets us into Meadow Glens school at under $250,000. Thoughts?

Extremely well priced homes like that are attractive to those shopping for themselves, for a rental, or a tear down -- if you wait you will be out of the running!

I know the area. It is fairly small and surrounded by subdivisions with much higher priced homes.

You might also look at the area near Kingsley Elementary, and in the 87th - Ring road area.

Sounds great! I live right next to the elementary school, so feel free to PM me with any more questions about the area.

Ranch View vs Meadow Glens, almost the same?

They're very similar schools, with similar demographics (both about 30-40% Asian). However, Meadow Glens usually ranks slightly higher for test score proficiency, and it also offers the Pi Plus track for students whose scores show that they are capable of taking accelerated math/science/English classes.

All of the 203 grade schools offer the PI program and Honors Math. Those that qualify for PI Plus (both math and English honors combined) attend those classes at Meadow Glens for elementary and Kennedy Junior High for middle school. This is a magnet program that is open to ALL students in the district that qualify.

we're leaning towards meadow glens more because we've heard so many good things about the teachers there. I know the curriculum is the same for 203 throughout the schools but i think the quality of the teachers matters as well.
