Hi Parents,

I have 10 years old daughter who is high functioning and supposed to be introduced to mainstreaming this year and 7 years old son who is low functioning and non verbal. He also had a heart surgery for Bacterial Endocarditis last year.

We are currently in San Jose, CA and looking for good schools for our kids 10-15 miles radius of my workplace in Hoffman Estates, IL.

Please suggest for Illinois state law for autism, Autism friendly neighborhoods, respite services, Speech therapy, ABA services, Pediatricians, etc., is highly appreciated.

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Barrington, Palatine, and Arlington Heights have great special education services. A section of Hoffman Estates is in the Barrington school district also.

One good thing about Illinois is that our former governor (who is now in prison) did was push through a law in 2008 that specified that when crafting IEPs, certain factors MUST be considered by the team

*that governor was Blagojevich. Illinois has had several in federal prison, so I guess I should clarify.
