Good day, all. The mother may have had an emotional breakdown and became erratic in the time around that videoclip. OR, she has an ongoing mental health disorder. And maybe genetically it was passed down to her son, and contributed to her son's issues.

Please bear in mind, I am NOT excusing what happened, not minimizing the tragic outcome.

I had to fight back tears as I passed by on Monday night.

Just wait, the family dynamics will eventually come out and will provide some interesting insight.

Sheridan teens (I was in a band with some back then). I could probably have counted the Hispanics back then on two peoples fingers. Highwood was nearly ALL Italian, but as we know now there was a huge influx of Hispanics.

The shooter and his dad and uncle are Italian by the way. My good friend since High School lives across the street from them and said they are great guys. Never saw much of the kid however. He's know the dad since childhood and they've always been good folks. Sadly that kid came from a different seed. That mother is a piece of work from all I've seen of her.
In response to the other poster's comments that it would be difficult for a child from a less than affluent background, I was trying to point out that Highland Park is not only home to the wealthy and white. Its public schools are relatively diverse across the board.

Let's face it, anyone who thinks the government is going to try to kill them and thus your AR-15 is necessary has something wrong with them. The real reason people have AR-15s is for fun. That's it. (I know, my son has one and I have fired it - it's super fun).
It may be a little early for you to be yacking about what awesome fun AR-15s are.

If there can be a mass shooting in Highland Park, there can be a mass shooting anywhere, no matter how upper class a suburbs/neighborhood is.

The shooter came from a completely different area completely (Elgin) and he does not at all reflect the local area where the shooting happened.

BOBNCHI, good morning, Sir:

I had to do a quick google search on this one. I did see reports of shootings IN Elgin this year, but nothing connected with the Highland Park shooter.

Unless I overlooked something, we will need CCrest182 to shed some light.

Enjoy this day. No one is going to get sunburned, that's for sure. I debated coming down today. I suppose I'll give it a go tomorrow, instead.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay happy!

LOL. Crimo's father owned Bob's Deli in Highland Park and he's a product of the local school system and seems to have resided in Highland Park and Highwood for the entirety of his life. Where did you get that he was from Elgin?

IIRC, the family settled in Highwood in 1929. Italian, I believe.

That is untrue. His parents live in Highland Park and his dad actually ran for mayor.
