If you work in Calumet City, what about some of the North Western Indiana burbs? I know there are some nice, safe ones and they tend to be less expensive than those on the Illinois side. I'm really not very familiar with that area, so maybe someone who is can recommend some to check out?

Dyer, Schererville and Crown Point are all towns in Northwest Indiana that you may want to consider. Generally lower crime rates, close to shopping, good schools and real estate values (as well as taxes) are some of the positives. Dyer and Crown Point have hospitals and from what I've heard, experience a greater shortage of nurses than the U.S. average. Lowell and Cedar Lake are are a little more rural (and generally even more affordable) but are still within a reasonable (20 miles or so) drive to Cal City. Hope this helps.

I hate to be a stickler, but Wood Dale has two d's and usually two words. You could go west of Elgin and ride the train in, and your wife may be able to work at the new Sherman Hospital. You can go rural if you are willing to go far enough out.

Is it really necessary to bump threads that are months old?
