Even a gyros joint is more upscale than McDonalds. There are delicious mexican restaurants where you can get a good meal for less than five dollars. These types of places are harder to find in upscale neighborhoods, even if Burger King is readily available.
Many of the types of places you mention are not too much above McDonald's in price although the quality can be better, sometimes much better, other times worse.

Old Country Buffet? Are you serious? The food there is on par if not worse than McDonald's. Do you have any idea what kind of stuff is in most of the food there?

If you spend $20+ on a meal as often as I order chicken wings, you're a yuppie.

Who said I did? Of course I have no idea how often you order chicken wings anyway.

Usually I spend about $10 without including drinks. That ain't a yuppie. That's normal non-fast food pricing.

So if you are a high-income individual, are you automatically a yuppie?

Not exactly. Paris Hilton is more yuppie than Donald Trump.

What's the income cut-off for a yuppie in Chicago?

Well, she's not very professional, is she? I guess she's just a trust fund baby.

The Rich Texan in the Simpsons is more yuppie than Mr. Burns. A yuppie is more interested in material goods while some high-earning individuals just seem to like to have money.
