If Indianapolis is on here than so should Minneapolis. Minneapolis has by far a much better downtown than Indianapolis. You think Downtown Minneapolis would be a ghost town on the streets because of the large skyway system but no theres actually a pretty large size of foot traffic.

I conclude Minneapolis is the best "apolis" in the USA
Agreed

Downtown Chicago is a really sexy place. I love taking the EL into the city and just chilling and checking out the vibe of everything. Its very nice, I love the energy of it.

San Jose comes up third on the list. the list of best downtowns in the Bay Area, right after San Francisco and Oakland.

make that fifth. I forgot about Berkeley and Palo Alto.

Hooray for Chicago! It's downtown should be a shoe-in (as well as a lot of other downtowns that should have made that list), but it's nice that Forbes included it.

I've been to San Antonio, and the only part of downtown that looked vibrant to me was the River Walk. The rest of downtown, while picturesque in its way, appeared to be pretty sleepy to me.

(Disclaimer: That was more than ten years ago, so it's possible things have changed.)
