I'm trying to accumulate a list from local residents of different cities of their top 5 favorite high rises. I'd love for you to list them. Please include at least the address or name and a photo if available (unless someone has already posted by the time you put your vote in)

Thanks

I love Aqua. Great architecturally and it's a nice building inside. I just wish it was a little bit NW of where it currently is

IBM building, Lake Point Tower, 300 N LaSalle, Edgewater Beach Hotel, Hancock, Wrigley Building. Probably different if I sat down with a list and mulled it over.

In no particular order:
-Tribune Tower
-311 S. Wacker Drive
-Chicago Board of Trade
-Two Prudential Plaza
-The Rookery (does this count as a high-rise?)

Honorable mention (and if the Rookery doesn't count):
-Sears Tower (if anything, for nostalgic reasons)

Chicago Motor Club/ Wacker Tower 68 E Wacker
Narrow Art Deco building on a crazy triangle lot with some cool architectural elements inside, Google image search, You're welcome

Monadnock Building, 53 W. Jackson
Tallest skin structure building, two buildings built at different times moprhed into one.

Marina City, 300 N. State,
Most asinine trapezoidal layout, but with a marina and a deck, always wanted to live here..

Carbide & Carbon Building, 230 N. Michigan
Incredibly innate interior details -- they don't make them like this anymore

Allerton Hotel, 701 N. Michigan
Once again, largely untouched architectural elements to be found

What was once cutting edge, then old and run down, and -- if it survived, is new and novel again.

- John Hancock Center
- Trump Tower
- Lake Point Tower
- Marina City
- Park Tower Condominium (5415 N. Sheridan)

I didn't include any prewar buildings in my list... although there are many that I absolutely love, I think of those more as mid-rises.
