April, I doubt you are even from or ever been in Chicago. I was raised on the south side of Chicago. You say you're 50 years old its time to act like it in the next half century.

While I didn't grow up in the city of Chicago, my family is from Chicago proper although I was born in the suburbs (Arlington Heights) and grew up in Wheeling, both are part of Cook County. I moved to Florida in 2002 near Pensacola and while at the time it seemed like a good move (didn't have much of a choice, my parents separated so had to move there), there is a ton lacking in Florida. The food options are pretty bad, if you like fast food you may like it, we do not have near the international selections of food that Chicago or the suburbs offer, good luck finding decent Italian food here, none of the good delis or kosher delis, international markets, good mexican food, greek, african, middle eastern etc. I've been to some places in Pensacola that are good, one of my friends owns a puerto rican restaurant and he is from NYC, theres 1 turkish restaurant here in the area, a decent Indian restaurant, and tons of thai restaurants but I think that's about as exotic as you will find here I realize the suburbs are not the same as Chicago but there are a lot of things I do miss primarily the food and the change of seasons, there are a lot of things you can't get here like italian beef sandwiches, giardiniera, vienna beef hotdogs, etc. etc. I do miss what Chicago has to offer as well, some things I don't miss, I think that suburban life is boring wherever you go but that doesn't necessarily mean that there weren't things to do there. Florida can get old very fast.
