Hockey is the best sport to watch live at the game AINEC. American Football is easily the worst.

Football is too damned organized, too corporate so to speak. Were I the football Tsar I'd make the following rule changes---

No plays sent in from the bench, the QB and the players decide the plays. Or maybe one play per series allowed from the bench. The coach prepares the players and the players run the game.

Only three coaches per team.

Players play both ways (in other words they play FOOTBALL, not offense or defense). If a player is substituted for he's out of the game.

All players can advance the ball. If the center wants to run the ball himself or hand it to an offensive lineman that's fine.

No rules on how the teams line up.

An incomplete pass is treated as a live ball, just like a fumble.

The player with the ball must be tackled not brought down by collision, "hit".

Those changes would liven things up.

Yeah a football game seems about 85% downtime. You don't realize how little actual action goes on over the course of 3+ hours until you sit thru one in person. Definitely a TV sport.

Football is becoming more and more of a TV Sport. Fantasy football among other things is one reason why too.

Hockey, from my experience, has always been a better sport to watch in person than on TV.

Basketball and Baseball are pretty much moot when it comes to in person vs. on TV. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

I think baseball and football both have somewhere around 15 minutes of actual action on average during a regulation game.

Want some football with your commercials?

There's Not Much Football In Your Football

Out of the typical 2 hours and 54 minutes of the average NFL broadcast, a whole 11 minutes actually feature live game action. So next time you want to call out soccer or baseball fans for following a sport where nothing happens, you might want to tend to your own garden.

Man created Google. Use it.

Also, you started the question asking about all this. Artificial limits? Every league, with the exception of baseball, has a cap. Stop being a troll and or a moron.

To be fair, the ownership of both of these teams (though Chicago has pass the torch to the next generation in the family, which turned things around) was/is downright horrible.

Might want to check out Rugby or Australian Rules Football.

Jacobs is a dinosaur and the key ******* behind the lockout. Chiarelli gets a lot of credit for the turnaround but it was mostly Jeff Gorton's drafting and moves that put the B's in the position theyre in now.

Hes our assistant GM to Sather. Hoping to god he is the apparent heir.

The Hawks are a combination of Rocky taking over with McDonough, top 3 picks in Kane and Toews, the Winter Classic in 2009 and being put on TV.

They were selling out before June 2010.
