Not meaning to be a troll, but I find the obsession by white people for Blackhawks ridiculous. How many big cities in cold climates have ice hockey teams, maybe 5? So isn't it expected the Blackhawks should win? Where is the challenge and true competition in this?? Hardly deserving of the parade these players were honored with.

Whether you mean to or not - You're being a troll. At least read the Wikipedia article on the NHL before even bothering to think about any of this stuff.

I just read the NHL wikipedia page, and it confirms that this is a sport for cold places. All the major teams are centered around the great lakes.. So Chicago is best of these half-dozen cities, wowee, who cares?

Even though you are probably trolling, your logic on hockey is flawed. What would it matter if the team is from a cold weather city? First, the weather has no effect on the games as they are all played in-doors. Second, just because a team play in a warm weather city, doesn't mean all of their players are from there? Example, The LA Kings won last year, and most of their players are from Canada. Still have to be the best of 30 teams to be the champs.

ROFL at this thread. Wow..hahahahahaha. Man, this isn't even a hockey thing. It's just in general not understanding how professional sports works.

What an idiotic comment & question combined. There are 30 teams in the NHL and like other pro sports, things can be cyclical. No, the Blackhawks are NOT favored to win the cup every single year or the majority of the years. I can guarantee you that there would be a huge parade in New York if the Rangers won the Stanley Cup, just like there would be one in Detroit if the Detroit Red Wings won another cup. Last time I checked, Detroit contracted and wasn't that big (maybe 800,000 population), but the surrounding Metro area provides it with its large fanbase.

An interest in sports should grow out of childhood activities such as PLAYING baseball, football and hockey. Sunbelt hockey fans who never laced up a pair of skates in their lives, who never swept the snow off the pond and warmed up around a fire barrel, are among the most contempible forms of pure dead-ass, couch dwelling louts in our culture, akin to those who lay in a drunken stupor watching Three's Company marathons. Pure spectator stuff.

Hey, Stanley Roper was perhaps the finest landlord ever to be depicted on a TV series...

Judging by the "parade" they had when LA won, they're not even spectators ...

If you don't like victory parades you could always move to Vancouver.
