If you have a car groceries are no problem in Logan Square (or any neighborhood along the Blue Line). There are two large commercial strips along Clybourn and Elston that are very convenient to Logan Square, and not much further away than any stores would be if you live outside the city. Pretty much all the big box stores and large chains have stores along these strips - Target, Costco, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Treasure Island, Mariano's, Strack and Van Til, etc... There is also a Whole Foods superstore at the Southern edge of this strip that takes about 15-20 minutes to get to (although it can take another 5-10 just to park). There are also plenty of groceries around that aren't convenient to the Blue Line, but are easy to reach by car (Tony's)

The residential parking zones help a lot with this - street parking is basically restricted to people who live in the area. We have a garage but don't use it for parking because parking on our street is really easy, and it's a shorter walk from the sidewalk to our kitchen than from the garage. Street parking isn't that bad in Logan Square.

Forgot about them. In the warmer months Logan Square also has a farmers market or two.
