You'll see Chicago continue to be more Hispanic and Asian and less black.
The bay area is probably gonna lose hispanics actually. Unless you count the fringe towns.
ain't no way blue collar people can afford to live there in the future.

There isn't **** here. No grocery stores at all.

I walk my dog everyday and see unoccupied homes all the time.

Roosevelt doesn't count because it's broadview and Loyola that keep the businesses open
No one said Maywood is a beacon of light what I said was that the blocks aren't abandoned, those are the facts. And you very well may live in Maywood however my mother lives in Broadview and has been a resident 20+ years, my sisters unfortunately graduated from Proviso East, I work in Hillside....so again I'm well versed on Maywood and yes Roosevelt does count sir.

I guess Austin is a very fine neighborhood since it's actually pretty nice along Austin Ave. on the Oak Park border.

Empty lot.

Everything visible in this picture is not in use, do a 180 and look behind. Abandoned. There's another block.

The only businesses I've seen in Maywood are currency exchanges, liquor stores, and fast food joints.

Again dude you're being untruthful, you're cherry picking the blighted areas of commerce to prove your point.

9th and Washington

6th and Lexington

Again so the areas where people actually live aren't abandoned and that's the point. Maywood has a density of 8k with is more than neighboring Melrose park and Broadview. And since we're cherry picking abandoned lots here's an abandoned lot on the white/ Mexican side of town

I'm sure you've seen ComEd, Maybrook Courthouse, Loyola Hospital, Cintas, etc etc...again I don't understand your point. Seems you and Alacran have a bias against the majority of the residents that live there, and if so fine let that be the case but don't tell blatant lies buddy.

How did this devolve into a discussion about Maywood? Anyway, maybe Maywood is picking up some Latinos but I think they'll struggle to draw them given that Berwyn and Cicero are established and desirable destination suburbs for that demographic group, still very affordable and have fewer problems. Taxes are getting very expensive though.

Not really sure about the numbers but from the looks of it North Riverside, Lyons, and parts of Brookfield are seeing an increase in Latinos/ Hispanics

The Hispanic population has doubled in those areas in the last decade.

Same is happening in Garfield Ridge and neighboring southwest suburbs like Oak Lawn, Summit, Stickney, etc..

I wholeheartedly agree, and that's largely because Berwyn and Cicero are becoming pretty saturated. There's a lot of competition for housing there. To put it in the terms you might understand, Berwyn is kind of like Oak Brook and Cicero like Elmhurst to a Hispanic family living on the West Side of Chicago.

Those town you mentioned don't have the same "name" recognition of Berwyn and Cicero. But Hispanic families are starting to discover them. Partly out of necessity and partly because they're nice and generally affordable.

But this being said, there is a pretty big difference from those those communities to Maywood. I'm not going to pile on Maywood, and I'm pulling for it, but it has a lot of problems. So to the extent they're going to attract Hispanic families it's probably going to be the really low income folks who are priced out of the nicer suburbs we've mentioned and who have service jobs in the further western suburbs. But even there you're competing with suburbs like Melrose Park, Des Planes, and Northlake.
