It fit the area well. Not like it is anywhere close to becoming Lincoln Square or Lincoln Park or anything else anytime soon. So why get rid of it?

Walgreens wants to move from its current location in the Cermak Shopping plaza to a new free-standing building so it can have a drive-through.

In a way, its kinda the artist's fault for the demise of the Spindle. If he had agreed to allow merchandising of the Spindle, there would have been a financial incentive to save it. For whatever reason though, he refused, so its gone.

I cant stand Walgreens..their land use policy is awful (although CVS is no better). right up there with McDonalds, Wal Mart, and banks.

It would be nice if they built a bigbox store like Walmart or Low's but not that lucky in Berwyn.

Berwyn is just like certain areas of Chicago, they don't want bigbox stores or businesses that draw crowds with money.
