I was walking down one of the paths near Belmont Harbor a few weeks ago and upon walking past a tree, was greeted with the most horrifying shriek/howl/growl I've ever heard in my life... I nearly jumped out of my skin. No idea what that creature was, but that sound sure startled me while walking alone at about midnight.
