Cool. You learn something everyday!
Shame you had to ditch it out of fear though.

They were only available for three model years (1986, 87, 88) and only the 87s and 88s were imported to N.A. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of that car, but it just wasn't worth the extra money it would have cost to keep it safe, plus I had gone over-budget in getting it back into good running order. But I did get to enjoy it for a while before I unloaded it.

Interesting. Did you have the 150hp motor or 163hp I4? Sorry, just did a little quick search on it. Looks like the engine was an old 944 engine?

I had an 87, which had the 150HP motor in it. Sucked off the line, but once you were moving that engine never quit. It was kind of like a German Miata (except it was a hard top): not much of a dragster, but a hell of a canyon-carver.

Bentley's don't even grab my attention, they're so prevalent in the gold coast, river north, etc.. They're kind of plain looking too. Now murcielago's are a different story, I've only seen about 4-5 of those.

A Bentley in Chicago won't stick out in the Gold Coast. You act like Chicago is some small hick town. Chicago is the third largest city in America and the Gold Coast is the second wealthiest urban neighborhood in the country after the Upper Eastside, Manhattan. Even in the South/southwest suburbs, I see luxury expensive cars from Mercedes Benz to Range Rovers, Porsches and Hummers all the time; especially around the Orland Park area. on 159th st in Orland Park, you can find almost any car dealership represented including luxury cars along the 159th St. strip between Orland/Tinley Park area.

Exactly.. Even in the suburbs Bentleys aren't that unique. Just to add, Lake Forest has a Ferrari and Aston Martin dealership..

Exactly, a lot of the homes in lincoln park and gold coast are more expensive then your typical beverly hills dig. Even in LA, Bel Air is richer and more tastefully so than beverly hills.
The good thing about Chicago is that we are down-to-earth people, at least a lot more so than BH, and a lot of us have Bentleys or RRs and we dont question if it is ok to drive around town in them. Come on, it's just a ride.

Is this chick for real? You completely came off as a snob to me. FYI, you don't need to advertise how wealthy you are by saying you own a Bentley at the age of 24, several times.
I wish my biggest concern at the moment was if people would notice me driving around in a $300k vehicle.

For me, if I saw a 24 yr woman in a Bentley I think maybe trust fund kid, rich parents, sugar momma, could have been a porn star / hooker, won a lotto? - how could she have gotten this.
And the if she was attractive I'd probably shun her away as "she's too much for me" or "above me" or "I'm not good enough for her."
Maybe if you were in a Prius you'd be more approachable.
