I just hope he doesn't pick anyone from the Chicago Public Schools adminisitration past or present (i.e. Paul Vallas or Arne Duncan). They don't even have the credentials to teach or become an administrator in their own schools let alone become Secretary of Education.

Any thoughts?

Forget Gay Marriage. This signals a move away from the culture wars that came out of the 60's and a move towards government that deals with the real problems we face. You will see Warren Buffet, Goolsby, and Bloomberg consulting with each other on the best way to solve the credit crisis. You will see Dick Lugar and Chuck Hagel being brought in to cooperate on security issues. The paradigm has shifted.

And on foreign policy, do you really see what we have been doing for the last 8 years as "realism"?!?! Go back and take a look at what was being said about Bin Laden in 2001/2002 and what is being said now, look at what was said about Iraq in late 2003. Has there been a scrap of realism under the Bush administration?!?! WTF?

Well, maybe Obama can appoint mass quanities of his politician friends from the County of Crook and take them to DC. Then, when Blago are finally in jail, we can begin with a fresh slate in Chicago.

Stay tuned: will Blago appoint himself of Jesse, Jr. to fill out the last 2 years of Nobamas senate seat??

So happy that the Constitutional Congress failed. Blago has already diverted pension funds at least he and his croonies can't re-write the law, too.

Here comes the end of individual responsibility with an Obama presidency.

I am really hoping Blago appoints himself as Obama's replacement in the senate. With his ego, he just might do it. He will do a lot less damage to this state in the U.S. senate then in Springfield, and surely he will not be reelected. When he was on WLS (Ch. 7) last night, he never said no when asked if he might fill Blago's seat. He just kept saying he wouldn't have discussions with himself.

As some one who grew up on the south side I just think it's cool the new President of the United States lives there.

Rich or poor, it doesn't matter. I, too, feel that my pride in being a South sider is validated. (not that it needed validating). I'm just happy...

What does that have to do with anything? Obama's house is in Kenwood, which is the South Side.
