Lt. Gov Pat Quinn is a decent man. Lt. Governor Pat Quinn - Standing Up for Illinois He should replace Blago, and then appoint Obama's senate replacement. That would be the least costly way to resolve the issue....instead of having a special election to elect a new senator. We just had an election, people are tired of perennial campaigning.

My (admittedly very slim) understanding of Quinn is that he's a nice enough guy, but not real "with it" A co-worker interviewed him a few times a couple of years back and wasn't really impressed with the guy.

From what I understand until Blago either resigns, or is impeached Donald Trump Jr. still has a job as a governor of this great state. All this talk about special election and AG threatening to kick his behind out are a bit premature and have no legal bearings. Hell, Trump Jr. was back hard at work today.

I find it interesting that the Lt. Gov lives in Galewood (and Springfield).

The Illinois Supreme Court can remove him as well. He aint gonna make it to Jan 1st. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Back hard at work? LMAO. I needed a good laugh today. Have you ever thought of a career in stand-up?

I would imagine the Governor's time is going to be tied up meeting with lawyers to craft his defense... So hopefully that will limit some of the damage he can create with his power still intact.

Lisa Madigan is even unsure if what your saying about the Supreme Court is possible.

Listening to her describe the process, it seems very far fetched.

The governor is going to have to resign or be pushed to resign. He's just biding his time and trying to leverage the resignation for something "tangible." As for Lt Governor Quinn, I did not get a vibe from him that he would be doing a great job as a governor.

I have always liked Pat Quinn. I would trust him (at least more than I would trust 90% of others in office) in just about any position in state or local government. He is an old neighbor of mine.
