Sher-a-Punjab, Viceroy, and Indian Garden.

Great food, great prices. All Devon Ave institutions.

Bummer, learned that Gandhi India is closed. Guess I'm not surprised, the couple times I went there I was the only one there, and Lord knows the market is way saturated along that strip.

Tiffin is a little bit nicer, a little bit cleaner, and a little bit more expensive than surrounding restaurants on Devon. This probably explains why there are a lot of non-Indians eating there. The food is good, not spectacular. And it's the same run-of-the-mill Inidian food you expect to see without standing out in any way. But it's a "safe" bet if you just want some decent Inidan food and a buffet--and if big city ethnic "dives" freak you out even a little bit.

My inlaws are from India and pretty much eat only at Tiffin.
