Actually regarding Halloween, that is the topic right? My co-worker is decorating her cubicle. I don't like the day, or any of the grossness that goes along with it. I'm a wet blanket. I don't get scared or freaked out, just feel very uncomfortable around the decorations and the entire "spirit" of the day.
What about the cute ones? You know the happy ghosts, pumpkins and witches? Do they bother you as much or is it just the gory stuff?

I won't lie to you arguy.....just the description of what you are doing scares me. But then again I am a self admitted wimp....I like happy movies with only happy endings. Big Thirsty can attest to this, I tend to yell back at movies when I don't like them. Ha ha ha.
Thanks everyone for responding to this post. I was curious what others thought. The people who lived in our house before us did not celebrate for religious reasons and I guess that is what made me curious about the fellow cd Christian board. Thanks again everybody!

oh Halloween really does come early for you! I googled home made smoke bombs but they don't seem safe to me. There's always the dry ice option.

It's really more the spirit of the day that bothers me more than the gross stuff out there. Granted I don't like looking at the gore either. I just don't find amusement in watching movies or going to haunted houses where it's "funny" to be scared by someone being hacked apart. I am being more of a literalist here, but it's really just where I am at. Maybe I'm just a 'fraidy cat.. But to also answer your question about the happy images, ghosts and pumpkins are ok. Witches no matter how cute they try to come off, just not an option for me.

yea..early just for the haunted hayride though..one of the reasons I get such a kick out of doing this is because I remember when My dad did it to us on campouts..and on hayrides..even though its been 20 something years ago..people still talk about how much fun it was..I want to do the same for my kids..(and I enjoy the heck out of it)
