Was anybody going to mention that both the ACLU and the Satanic Temple condemned the destruction of the Ten Commandments? It seems only fair to include "the rest of the story."
let's see, spend a gazillion dollar to remove a good set of rules for a society. with or without the god is unimportant. They don't have to put them on from now on but don't waste money removing them. And Humans need a focal point anyway. what should atheists have as this focal point for the masses? Does less god plus more liberals leads to a very dangerous society? I don't know the answer.

Just what exactly does the word "fair" mean to you ..... because to most non-fundamentals the word "fair" means to always counter anyone that disagrees with them while attempting two things
bullying anyone that disagrees with them to silence\intimidate them
give themself or their supporters special privileges \ a convenient blind eye
cause we know of course that CNN is always "fair" and FOX isn't.
I bet however, janelle144 link on Fri, October 24, 2014 11:55 pm ... knew that on 9:01 AM EDT, Sun October 26, 2014 CNN would make sure that the pure as the wind driven snow ACLU and the Satanic Temple would come out and "condemn" an action that was done because " the devil made him wreck the religious monument,"
... could it be there was a biased self interest for a Satanic Temple to condemn an action to which if it had not occurred they wouldn't have given two hoots if it had to go away if they didn't get their way and erect something for their Satanical alternative???

Why? It's a Judeo-Christian culture. It's a monument to the culture.
It really is a part of American culture, and if it were included with such iconic documents in the history of that culture, such as Magna Carta and The Bill of Rights it would have a place. As it is, it is a religious statement. It might be interesting to see what other documents might be appropriate for a display on the relationship of law and social concerns in concert.
