Nonsense. Dave and Jon got it on. The language left no doubt. Except, of course, in the minds of fundies.

Except in the minds of people with no understanding and who do not want to understand. Even the Hebrew word only includes the idea of sex if it is specifically mentioned and it isn't with Jonathan and David. Ignorance is rife among those who disagree with scripture. Basically fundamentalists who ignore scripture. Concludes those claiming to follow the Bible and those who don't. Fundamentalists.

You are right, it IS this thread. Considering a new topic on the subject.

HOW does it harm society? What exactly does two men making love in a bedroom in a house two doors down from you affect you? Your community? Your State?

Please, I'm all ears why that matters.

My take:

As a Christian, one can either choose to believe or disbelieve that Homosexuality is considered sinful. There are different interpretations that vary on this, particularly regarding Romans 1:26-27. If one reads the text literally, it is stating that Homosexuality is sinful. Other commentators on the NT regard these passages as needing to be understood within the Cultural context in which they were written, in which Paul is condemning the practice of Temple Prostitution in the Near Eastern World as linked to idolatry.

Whether one views it as sinful or not sinful, it is not Christian to discriminate or hate those who are Homosexual. All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. We should trust that God will be the final judge of all men. Also, as the United States has separation of Church and State, there is no constitutional basis for preventing Same-Sex Marriage from taking place on the basis of Christian beliefs about Marriage. The USA is not a theocracy.

But... what did the original Hebrew say and what context was that in?

If you want to get into a detailed dissertation on that, I am more than prepared.

Cool response, here is my take.

REDUNDANCY.

The point should be to point out the fact that E V E R Y O N E COMMITS HOMOSEXUAL ACTS....

Christians just don't understand what they do or they are lying to themsleves what they do.

Are you are murderer when you are angry to then speak in an unloving way to another person, and you wont admit that you are a murderer?

Christians point back at Israel committing adultery by building a golden calf but they say nothing of their own spiritual adultery.

What needs to be realized by a Christian is the fact that he consists of two kingdoms, and that he is in a marriage AS TWO KINGDOMS CONSISTING OF FLESH AND SPIRIT. Two kings in a marriage of flesh and spirit where it should be a submissive virgin to the will of her betrothed. Everyone is in this marriage, everyone.

The right arm is ruled by the flesh and it's desires and this is why Jesus tells you to RIP YOUR RIGHT EYE OUT OF YOUR HEAD TO BE SAVED.

If the kingdom of the flesh fights against the kingdom of the spirit, it is kingdom against kingdom, but what needs to be is a surrender, that you die to the desires of your sinful flesh to become a submissive virgin to the will of the spirit.

Instead of one bringing his flesh under submission, he rules side by side the other king while he is trying to kill the gentle hidden man of the heart, and so you have the blood of Abel on your hands because two kingdoms cannot rule side by side, one has to submit to the other, or one will kill the other, or both kingdoms shall both become evil as two kings who agree, and both will fall. It would be better if a person would tear the right eye of the king from his head, and then he should have his right arm withered that his entire being is not lost altogether. There is not supposed to be two kingdoms anymore because one king submits to the other king and there becomes One Kingdom.

The Christian is in a legal betrothal to a Jew, has she become submissive to her own husband, or has she ran off to keep the ways of another lover? Israel committed adultery through pagansim just as the ten tribes did, just as Christianity does.

Every Christian who speaks of homosexuality is guilty of homosexuality and doesn't know it.

The point is to see the redundancy of just how guilty we all are, so guilty that nobody should point a finger at anyone.

Ask the victims of the Catholic church what homosexuals do. Very harmful to society. Most of the abusers were homosexuals; it's deviant behavior that begets even more deviant behavior; it's what happened to Sodom & Gomorrah. And God had to destroy those cities. The western world had better take heed because God is not mocked.

The Christian business owners who saw their businesses ruined or got fined excessively would certainly argue that it causes harm.
