True. Most are unsure what it really means I seriously doubt He's speaking about the rapture or catching away. Moreover, who is He speaking to? Mark 8:34
"And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."
Mark 9:1 is a continuation of that discourse not a new thought. This is one of the problems with chapter and verse separations it tends to make you break a though or not when it has no reason to. A couple of words to key on, "some" and "kingdom of God with power." We know from the full counsel of God that the kingdom of God is salvation this is clear. Notice "some" Jesus is not saying everyone only some, and that of those that were standing there listening to Him in Ch. 8:34. Some believe it was seeing the transfiguration, or that there are/were some standing there that would see salvation, and most likely the the coming of the Holy Spirit too, before they were to die. What's wrong with that? Jesus said something similar to Peter and John in John 21:18-23
How does one take up the cross of Christ and follow Him?
People crucified by the Romans were forced to carry their own cross through town to the site. This represents the certainty that all hope is lost, and worldly pleasures and possessions are gone. If you are willing to give up all passions and possessions, "for whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." If you give up everything and follow Christ, you will be considered "worthy".
That being the case, when Jesus was killed, did his soul go to Heaven for 3 days, then return? But, to answer Birdy_56's question, I think the righteous will be taken during the rapture, but they may be so few that nobody will notice.
if that's the case...Rom 3:10 just as it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one,
but I agree but along these lines...Rom 1:17 For the righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel from faith to faith, just as it is written, “The righteous by faith will live.”
Those righteous by the law will not.
