I once had a conversation with a guy who proclaimed himself a scientist. Except on talking to him it quickly became obvious that he knew virtually nothing about science. He eventually admitted that he had a bachelor of science degree in economics.

Ah, what the heck. Ive got a 20 min wait til a meeting and nothing better to do.

Genesis is wrong because it tells you man was created separate from the other animals . The Human Genome Project, which by the way was ran by a devout evangelical Christian scientist named Francis Collins, who wrote a book called the Language of God which defends a belief in God, shows that man descends from earlier primates. This is proven conclusively by the fact that humans share a non working, and I will stress NON WORKING , as in broken and not functioning , gene with other higher primates that causes vitamin C deficiency and makes it necessary for humans to take in vitamin C from outside sources to keep from getting severely ill . Other mammals, including a different branch of the apes than the one we descend from, produce vitamin C internally and dont need outside sources. All of the primates from the branch we descend from have this same broken gene, which is broken at the same DNA marker in all of this line of apes.

Your job would be to explain why God would create a deliberately broken gene in the exact same place on the DNA chain as the apes, that is broken in the exact same way and causes the exact same illness in both the God created man and the separate God created apes.

Since you're defending 'Answers In Genesis' I take it that you believe the earth is about 6 or 10 thousand years old and that dinosaurs were on the ark. Oh, and that the flood (the story probably being based on the Black Sea flood) was really worldwide.

You don't have to believe any of that to be a Christian by the way.

You stole my argument! - and yes, that one tends to stump the creationists.

“The Language of God†was a pivotal book in my break from fundamental Christianity and a belief in YEC.

What else could it mean? One does not stop being Christian in a public space anymore than an atheist does.

Not necessesarily,
Exposing the fraudlulent expositions of archaeology might be an excerise in critical resolve.
Especially after finding that federal funding is mostly restricted to a particular collegial caste system.
