One thing to bear in mind: when you read about the things Jesus said about divorce and remarriage: at the time He was speaking to people who were under the Old Covenant, those who were under the Law. That's why it was so legalistic and unbending. They lived in a time when you could literally get stoned to death, for what today we would consider minor infractions...
Today, we live under the New Covenant, often called the covenant of grace. It is a better Covenant, in that we no longer have to repeatedly do blood sacrifices (constant daily/weekly/monthly/yearly asking God for forgiveness for the same sins) to cover us. Jesus spilled His own blood for us, once and for all. It was a one-time only sacrifice. To those who will believe and accept Him, His blood, once and for all, cleanses us of ALL unrighteosness...you get a clean slate.
Therefore, IMO: if you want to get remarried...then I'd say go ahead. Ask God to forgive you of your mistakes of the past. Ask Him to cover you with the blood of Jesus. Then forget about what is past, what is behind you. Go get remarried. God looks at you through the blood of His Son, not your marriage history. Divorce and remarriage IS NOT the unforgiveable sin. (though some would have us think so) There is a reason God gave us the new covenant: we all failed to keep the old...in one way, or another, we all failed miserably. I think I read somewhere that Christians, as a whole, do no better at marriage and divorce than un-believers, despite our beliefs on the matter....
Bud
Preach it Bud, preach it! I cannot believe there are even Christians who don't get this already. Sad, really sad.
Marriage is something I want but I am divorced. From what I get when reading the epistles, it would not be a spiritual death but it would not be a blessed marriage either. I have no plans in getting married anytime soon.

Repent about what?/
Repent means to turn away from that which you understand is a sin that you have committed.
I would do further research on the different things the word has to say about divorce;
for example there are exceptions; for instance there is a passage of scripture that says it's better to marry than to burn with passion(paraphrased).
I'd study these scriptures more closely; or speak with a trusted minister about this.
God Bless You

I dont want to sound cold but the only thing you need to "repent" from is reading the epistles.
Your marriage didnt work out like countless marriages . You did nothing wrong UNLIKE many of the so called Family value preachers who wind up fooling around with kids and hookers.
You start dating and enjoy yourself. You did NOTHING wrong the marriage didnt work out thats the real world and life goes on.
Do you really believe that a loving god would want you to spend the rest of your life alone? This should be a personal decision for you...between you and your God...not something written down by the church.

So your advice is get married no matter what, cuz some preachers are immoral?
Is there no sacrafice in your world? No being lead by God?
