I have read that there is only one unforgivable sin..
The sin of Blasphemy.
Can someone explain the meaning of this?
My thought was that it meant taking the lords name in vain.
Thats what people commonly refer to as blasphemy.

From my understanding, it is attributing the works of the Holy Ghost to the devil. For instance, when someone receives a healing from God.

I'm curious as to what everyone believes about this as well. My thought has always been that since the Holy Spirit reveals the Word to us, to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit would be to reject the Word. I can't back that up though, so I would love to know others' thoughts.

Blasphemy
The vilification of God.
To speak evil of God.
Attributing that which is of God to be of the devil.

But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons."
Matthew 12:24

"Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
"Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit,
it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Matthew 12:31,32

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Mat 12:34

Perhaps the unforgiveable sin is the one you never regret, feel remorse for or have validated it in your own terms...

Actually since Jesus is not on earth anymore then this "unpardonable" sin against the Holy Spirit cannot be duplicated but there is one unpardonable sin and that is dieing in your sin without receiving Christ. The sin of unbelief

That is inaccurate. Jesus is still performing many, many miracles today through His real believers who lay hands on the sick. This was not limited to the early church. If someone was to attribute a real healing or miracle by the Holy Ghost to the devil, then they could duplicate the unpardonable sin.

(Mark 16;16-20) "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen."

The Lord is still confirming His word with signs.

Best explained in the early Christian writings

The Didache of the Apostles, the earliest known such document, describes it as such:

Do not test or examine any prophet who is speaking in a spirit, "for every sin shall be forgiven, but this sin shall not be forgiven." But not everyone who speaks in a spirit is a prophet, except he have the behaviour of the Lord. From his behaviour, then, the false prophet and the true prophet shall be known.

~The Didache~

Basically it was mocking and not believing some who was speaking in the Spirit. Since tongues have been done away with its application today is rejecting the Bible
