I never said that its sole purpose was to be used as an incense.
Furthermore, I am not held to what you or anyone else believes.

You and those like you who believe such, are no more one with the Father's Spirit than I am or anyone else is, AT THIS POINT IN TIME, because the cup of iniquity is not quite full yet. Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. Peace

Faith is not a matter of believing, it's knowing.
But I do not expect you to comprehend that.

Well, that's a shame, because I do know what "knowing" is. But it's not arrived at overnight, and the disservice done to babes by trying to get them to skip from grade school to college, is detrimental to their growth. Some of you assume I have never been where you are at, but I was: about 15 years ago. Remember; He rebuked them for being at ease in Zion. There's more; keep pressing in. Peace

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent to you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and you would not!

The disservice may be in that of age-long procrastination, thinking it would keep them in control.
And you cannot compare yourself to that of others. Especially, if they have out grown you.

In other words, they might be light years ahead of you in their thinking without the mysticism.

I believe that was the point I was making in reference to your constant measuring of yourself against me.

The problem with the comment above being, that "thinking", IS the problem, when the carnal mind dictates what you think, as opposed to the SPIRIT just DOING, and then explaining via the Word what just happened. But since most don't realize that the Spirit makes the written LIFE in you, they eschew the written for what THEY think, thus tying His hands. And the "mysticism" you speak of, is the understanding gleaned from what the Spirit made LIFE in you. Peace

But some people would suggest that we shouldn't use our God-given brains to facilitate the healing process. Instead, they would say something like, "you don't have enough faith," or you have a demon?

No, actually, those that hear Him don't say anything. They wait upon HIM to speak the problem AND the solution, whatever it may be. That's part of the misunderstanding about the function of tongues. We are not speaking to talk, we are speaking to HEAR (with the hearing ear) what the Spirit is saying, and THAT is what we speak and nothing more or less. Things go so much better when you lean on the Spirit for your understanding, your healing, your deliverance, ect. Peace

I Sent You a Rowboat

A very religious man was once caught in rising floodwaters. He climbed onto the roof of his house and trusted God to rescue him. A neighbor came by in a canoe and said, "The waters will soon be above your house. Hop in and we'll paddle to safety." "No thanks" replied the religious man. "I’ve prayed to God, and I’m sure he will save me."

A short time later the police came by in a boat. "The waters will soon be above your house. Hop in and we’ll take you to safety." "No thanks" replied the religious man. "I've prayed to God, and I'm sure he will save me."

A little time later a rescue services helicopter hovered overhead, let down a rope ladder and said. "The waters will soon be above your house. Climb the ladder and we'll fly you to safety." "No thanks" replied the religious man. "I've prayed to God, and I'm sure he will save me."

All this time the floodwaters continued to rise, until they reached above the roof and the religious man drowned. When he arrived in heaven he demanded an audience with God. Ushered into God's throne room he said, "LORD, why am I here in heaven? I prayed for you to save me, and I trusted you to save me from that flood." "Yes you did" replied the LORD. "And I sent you a canoe, a boat, and a helicopter. But you never got in."
