Anyway, I guess I am confused. I will read over the thread again. I am not used to debating with people using my own "language" so I usually revert to mainstream Christianity "language"... that is why I asked you about the payment for sin.
I don't believe in burning at all... but most URers do so I try not to offend but just focus on the issue at hand whether it be hell or sin or whatever..

So let me catch my barrings .. read over the thread and I would love to have a discussion about this in regular terms and not have to double-think everything I post (ie thinking about it from their perspective so communication is fruitful)

I will respond again tomorrow night. I am looking forward to it.
Ok I revisited the thread and now I think I understand where you are coming from.

I believe that the cross of Christ is symbolic for laying down one's life for another thus carrying your own cross would be synonymous with love one another as yourself. I also believe that Christ died because the message he spread was controversial.. The sins of the people were that they were so religious that they lost communication with their maker. Jesus knew that he may well be killed for what he said.. and he was. Now that being said.. I don't believe there is anything that God wants more than to see US all get along... I believe that was the purpose.

That is also why I use the carwash example.. because so many seperate the believer from the non-believer but if they can see that we are all the same in God's eyes (eventually washed clean) then there will be no looking down upon others who don't believe it in the same way. I think ET has caused Christians to treat Non-Christians as a lower life form in many ways which is in opposition to the purpose set forth in the Bible.

I also believe that if you love humans for being humans you will be blessed with extraordinary relationships and a gratifying life.

As far as the washing of the feet.. I think it does have some spiritual significance in that Jesus stated that unless they were washed they have no part of him... meaning that it is that "do unto others" theme of the cross... Him humbling himself as teacher to wash his students feet shows that we all must become servants to each other no matter where we stand in belief. If all people were kind to each other the world would be a peace..

So there's my two cents. I think we got off on the wrong foot and perhaps I was confused as to who posted what (sometimes I loose track of who believes what on here).

But let me know if there is anything else you want to discuss on this topic. I find it interesting that I agree with alot of what you say. Seems like you are looking at the scripture spiritually rather than the carnal (car wash) type thought.
