It's almost to the point now within even the Christian realm...where politics has been allowed to seep in, that people are more concerned with

'who you voted for' and less concerned with 'your state of salvation'
It's as if their more concerned with 'what political party your registered with', than 'have you accepted Jesus into your life'.

Secularism is destroying the church....I observe, secularism in it's old form could never penetrate the church, cause it was to obvious...so like a good general, the devil goes back to the drawing board, and devises a long term plan that involves using political sensitivities as an entry way into the church, a Trojan horse of sorts, and I see it has, or is working...

To the point where worldly politics has taken precidence over 'repentance'....

It seems, to Glen Beck listeners...'repent' means denouncing your democratic leanings and becoming a Rep or Conservitive...

(And I'm sure the same could be said for Dems as well)

It's like, the heck with if you know Jesus or not, just as long as your a registered this or that...

Politics within it'self has become the new religion.....and it's as if the devil is recruiting more and more of it's members from rank and file church attendies...and lets start by suggesting the very people that deliver their messages each week, the Pastors, are 'corrupt'...

Satan is very clever...confusion is his specialty...

(maybe someone could word it more eloquantly than I did)

This has been going on for a while. I remember news reports about a pastor asking members of his congregation who they were voting for. This was during a Sunday service. If they were voting for the democrat they were told to leave the church. There are other churches that tell their members who they should vote for. It's sad and scary.

Where does one turn to? The Bible. We were after all given the Bible to live by.

Matthew 7:7-8
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

I mean by allowing polarizing politics to seep into the realm of Salvation, it has created division and suspicion rather than love and understanding, do you think that's a tactic of the 'devil'....

Where as the church was once a place where people came to forgive each other and reconcile their differences, now it seems to be a place of whispering and suspicious stares....

What's that saying...divide and conquer.....

And now it's like people are allowing secular talk radio hosts, to define the church, rather than vice versa....
I find it disheartning that Gods sanctuary has been breached by politics...

I mean where does one turn now?

I don't even like Glen Beck all that much. But he is dead right on this one. I am a Christian. I can't help but be shocked and more than a little disturbed at some of the "churches" today.

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

I cannot argue with this...and you kept it pure...you pointed me towards God or salvation.

I like that....pure...no political implication, no putting down of others, no humanizing it or saying something to get in a personal point...

You simply pointed me towards salvation...a new fresh start...
But very few know how to do that anymore....

I do believe God or Jesus can fix what ails the heart...not politics...

Louis Farrakhan is not a Christian. I've discussed Reverned Wright before. If you want to know what I think of him do a search.

But if you want to bring up pastors I can name a few who support republicans that have said controversial things. Do you want to get into a back and forth discussion? Should I bring up Robertson calling for Hugo Chavez to be assassinated? This isn't a left vs. right thing. No pastor should tell his congregation who to vote for. No pastor should tell a member of his flock to leave the church.

And Glenn Beck is not a pastor. Nor does he speak for LDS (as far as I know). Don't like him, don't listen to him.

But I agree with this:
  • No pastor should tell his congregation who to vote for.
  • No pastor should tell a member of his flock to leave the church

When i read or hear of christians up in arms so easily it makes me wonder if they have really faith in the truth or they just have a doctrine they need to protect , the litmus test of whether you really have faith in the truth i suppose is how easily you are offended by what you think is not the truth.

for we are not able to do anything against the truth, but for the truth; 2 Cor 13 verse 8
