My apologies for being snippy earlier. Prospect Hill fits exactly what you are looking for and you would practically be in OTR. Not trying to sell you on the place though, but I made the recommendation with your stated desires in mind.

My husband and I are drooling over American Can lofts but they have a very long wait list. Does anyone know how to get an apartment there? What's the best method? We're moving to Cincinnati and it's our first choice.

I looked into them too. I never thought so many people would be dying to get into these spaces haha.

Further back in this thread, someone mentions that, that area is not the best.

Is this the same place?

American Can Loft Location

If so, Northside is a really cool area. Hipster, les/gay, working class all sort of merge there. Good night life, restaurants, centrally located, awesome business district with good arts scene.

There's a local blogger that lives in that area. If you email him, he would probably be willing to give you some insight.

american can has a long list and there isn't much to be done about it. well, they could raise their rents. i'm surprised they haven't. if you have 100% occupancy with a waiting list, why wouldn't you?

Remember it wasn't that long ago that there were serious race riots that started in OTR (in the 2000s). Many if not all of these individuals are still in OTR and they are even more ticked that every 50-60y/o yuppie raves about how cool OTR has become and displaced generations of low income AAs that called OTR home. Add in the fact there are numerous grandfathered homeless shelters makes the area very sketchy.
i wish i had access to your crystal ball.

Not to mention the genius obviously has no idea about OTR in it's current state. Oh, also, the last big out migration from OTR was after the riots. So a majority of the people who were there then are not currently there. Misinformation and ignorance.
